Here is a preview of what to expect in the festival piano bar this year. It’s actually quite hard to describe what goes on inside The Piano Bar. Nestled in the festival campsite The Piano Bar is home to a huge grand piano, comfy sofas, board games, an alarming amount of rocking horses and a unique festival music experience.
New for 2013 Friday night will be The Brownstock Cabaret Show, hosted by singer Coco DuBois.
Coco DuBois, To host the Cabaret Show, Friday 30th.
As well as cabaret she will present a Burlesque performance from Isabelle L’Amour and a comedy show from Phil Wang . The show is planned to continue into the small hours of Saturday morning. It’s not Isabelle’s first visit to Brownstock Festival. Here she is performing in 2012. Piano based pop band, Benedict will headline the Friday night.

On Saturday musical festival goers will be able to step up to the open mic. If they don’t play themselves but want to have a little sing then there are always pianists on hand to play. Think piano karaoke. Some impromptu performances have resulted in “whole bar singalongs” and some extremely unexpected hidden talent. Make sure you get there early on Friday night to put your name down if you would like to play.
Look out for signed and unsigned talent from Essex and beyond with a selection of acoustic only acts through the weekend. The Saturday will be headlined two bands, Blackwell and The Lightyears.
Saturday will finish with The Brownstock Hoe Down Party which will include hip hop hoe down music from the Grizzly Bears, a performance by Bishop Stortford Band 27 Strings (who have 9 band members, every instrument under the sun and are super young but super talented) and country favourites Creme de Chevre.

On Sunday morning The Piano Bar becomes the R and R zone. Sunday papers, the odd board game, connect 4 competition and The Brownstock Pub quiz. Sunday evening The Piano Bar hosts the The Brownstock Big Band with as many singers and musicians as we can find playing at once.
But the best thing about planning the piano bar is that you cant plan it. Festival goers playing display pianos until the small hours, unexpected beat box performances and secret sets from X Factor winner Matt Cardle. Who knows what is in store for 2013.
The bar is completely designed, planned and managed by www.pianodj.co.uk who when they are not tearing it up at festivals are available to do live piano music for weddings and parties.
