Reasons you should go to a festival this summer (particularly BSTK)

The sun is coming out (kind of), weekends are spent day time drinking. If you’re anything like us, you probably spent last weekend in your garden or outside a pub - right? You also probably got some mild degree of sunburn because although you knew it was pretty bloody hot, it would also be ridiculously British to wear sun cream in May. It’s actually ridiculously British to not wear sun cream on this bases and then end up sporting the tomato paste look.

ANYWAY… Where were we… summer… festivals. Yes! BSTK is less than 2 months away (yes I know, time flies scarily quick these days) and this year it is looking to be the best it has EVER been.

Now a lot of you have got your tickets exceptionally quickly this year - but those of you who haven’t.. why the hell not? When they sell out and you haven’t got yours, you’ll only have yourself to blame. So do it! And just in case you need reminding, here’s why you really should go to BSTK this summer…

Because it’s social to hang out with your mates all weekend!

It’s the weekend of July 8th.. The sun is shining and you’re sitting with your parents in your lounge because all your mates are at BSTK and you’re not. OR you could be spending your days dancing, laughing and singing at Morris Farm, sipping on beer and cocktails and just having an all round jolly good time. No brainer really?

Seeing some of the best in music for very little cost…

There are currently 49 acts announced across the Main Stage and Good Shed. That’s NOT even including The Stumble Inn who’ll be embracing acts such as Big Narstie and MISTAJAM this year OR the incredible Tree house stage & Saloon Bar. With tickets costing £89 at the moment (until they run out) it works out less than £2 per artist.

How often can you go to a 3 days festival for less than £30 a day and see some of the BIGGEST acts in the country (and not), right in your home county.

Incase you missed the memo this year we have the likes of Annie Mac, Tinie Tempah, Mark Ronson, Kelis, Katy B, Krept and Konan, Wretch 32 and MANY more.

Eat, drink and be merry all day!

Everyone knows, that calories don’t count at festivals. So for 3 days you can literally eat WHATEVER you want and just know that you will surely dance it all off by the end of the day.

Discovering new bands

When you want to chill, you can take refuge by the intimate Treehouse stage. This is where you’ll see Essex’s finest local talent. From sweet sweet acoustics, to funky indie rock, this stage has everything. There are also some pretty awesome cover bands performing there so you can guarantee a good sing along. Alongside the Tree house the Stumble Inn and Saloon Bar will be home to even more local bands and DJs.

The outfits have no limits

You want to wear glitter? WEAR IT! You want to cornrow your hair? DO IT! You want to paint your face like a tiger? PAINT IT! You want to cover yourself in henna and pretend you’re a princess for the weekend? YOU CAN! At festivals literally anything goes… from the cool and quirky to the downright weird. Don’t forget you’ll be able to get some cracking shots for your instagram…

It’s local

Those of you Essex birds & boys, BSTK is literally on your doorstep. Now, we know there’s hundreds of festivals all over the country but how many are close enough that you can get your mum to drop off your deodorant when you leave it at home? Readmission means you can even go home for a shower in the morning…

So there we have it… you can’t really argue with logic.
